How many sessions will I need?

This depends entirely on your challenges, the support you need and your commitment to creating the life you want. Many clients achieve results in as little as 1-3 sessions but some need longer. We explore your needs fully and work towards achieving your desired outcome - whatever that looks like for you. You are in control but to make lasting changes you need to be ready to commit to making changes in your life. My aim is to empower you to be able to use the tools and techniques we work on and apply them to your life yourself going forward.

I feel nervous/ awkward/ silly/ ashamed/ anxious about using a coach

Many clients feel this way and it is OK. I will explain the whole process and you can ask as many questions as you need to. You can rest assured that I provide a safe, non-judgemental space for you to explore your thoughts, feelings and behaviours. I will hold the space for you, listen attentively and be respectful of your needs. In return, I ask that you are honest and as open as possible with me in order for the coaching to be successful.

What if we don’t “click” during the Discovery Session?

The connection between client and coach is paramount. You have to feel comfortable sharing your challenges with me and be open and honest. And I have to feel that we will work well together, that I can support you on your journey and that you are fully committed to creating the life you choose. The discovery sessions are your opportunity to ask me questions, to find out about how the process works and what the expectations are on both sides. There will be no hard feelings if you decide I’m not the coach for you and no obligation to book more sessions. If you don’t want to continue with me I may be able to suggest some other coaches you could try.

I’m not sure about online coaching

I understand and in fact, I felt the same before the global pandemic. However, I have found that online video coaching can achieve amazing results and be more convenient for many people. It also enables clients to access coaches outside their area, without the travel time. As long as you have somewhere private where you feel safe and comfortable to share confidential information I’d urge you to give it a try. I can send you tips on how to get the most from online coaching if you’re nervous.

When will you be offering face to face coaching again?

Face to face coaching is currently suspended but I will be returning to in-person coaching for those that prefer it later in the year. I will be monitoring Government guidelines and following them closely. If you particularly want/ need in-person coaching do get in touch and I may be able to give you some suitable options.

What I need support with is not listed on your website?

If you can’t find what you are looking for, want more information or are not sure if my approach is right for you please book a discovery call to talk it through. If I can’t help I may be able to direct you to someone who can.

What is the difference between coaching, therapy and counselling?

I realise these terms can be confusing and are often used interchangeably. I am an NLP Practitioner and also trained in the transformative Ollie Method, which is a therapeutic intervention. I am fully insured and uphold a strict code of conduct, ethics and professional practice. I have an Enhanced DBS Check, Safeguarding Level 1 and 2 and have completed PREVENT training.

I use the term coach as my approach is action-based and primarily focused on the present and the future, as we can’t change the past. However, I do work with past events to help my clients to change the emotion they associate with a past event. I use a strengths-based and solution-focused approach to support clients to find their own solutions and put them into action to achieve the outcome they want.
